Yesterday, Sunday, January 27th, took place the two slalom, the ladies’ in Maribor and the men’s in Kitzbuehel, also valid for the combined.
On the track of Maribor dominates the house champion, Tina Maze, in both runs, with a safe skiing and accurate, progressive, and is thus able to conquer her first home victory, that worths more than a medal.
However, fails to get the red bib from the American Mikaela Shiffrin, although not brilliant on this track, still remains in the lead for thirteen points.
Second, once again, by eighty-six hundreds, is Frida Hansdotter, who with her consistency continues to emphasize the great leap made this season and her excellent form.
Great constancy is also demonstrated by Kathrin Zettel who wins her seventh podium of the season a second and thirteen hundreds from Maze.
The best of Italian is sixth, Irene Curtoni that makes two good races in which she fights on equal terms with the best. Eighteenth is Chiara Costazza and nineteenth is Michela Azzola, both started with high bibs: Costazza with forty-two and Azzola with forty-oneAzzola. Do not classify for the second run Sarah Pardeller and Elena Curtoni, while Manuela Moelgg fails to finish the first run.
In Kitzbuehel at first in the first round had been entrusted to draw the Croatian Ante Kostelic, but after drawing the first time an irregular run and two more times regular runs, but with a design that the director of the FIS, Gunther Hujara did not considered suitable for the track, at the last second Theolier, the Italian trainer, was asked to draw the manche. Never before happened that a coach who had been entrusted with the trace of a run was rejected.
The victory goes a wild Marcel Hirscher, more cautious in the first run, skiing with margin is third in the first eleven hundreds. Then in the second rub, giving one hundred percent and showing all his class, wins a beautiful slalom in the temple of the skiing.
In the hours following the race were out of the photos on the web in which he seemed to have got on, but then a video from another perspective, the fully exonerates!
Second, by seventy-seven hundreds, is Felix Neureuther, extremely consistent this year, winning his sixth podium of the season.
Third is a reborn Ivica Kostelic, not great in the first round, where is betrayed some ice plates and anticipates too much last off, skis masterfully in the second, always in progress. With this result wins the combined followed by Alexis Pinturault and Thomas Mermillon-Blondin.
Fifth is Benjamin Raich that, twenty-fifth after the first run, shows his class and style, making the second partial-time only ten hundreds from the compatriot Hirscher.
At the end of the first round were first separated by seven hundreds, Stephen Gross, unrestrained, and Giuliano Razzoli, the started with the bib eighteen and author of a run worth framing, without burrs and where he even manages to increase in the final stretch.
Unfortunately, both Italians commit a similar error on the penultimate hump, getting a bit dump off and losing the ideal line. Razzoli ends fourth, while Gross slips in eleventh position.
Sixth is instead Patrick Thaler, thanks to two great races, pulled to the maximum. Go out during the first run Manfred Moelgg, started perhaps too aggressive, Cristian Deville, that exit was skiing well, Roberto Nani, Matteo Marsaglia and Dominik Paris.
The next race of the World Cup is tomorrow, with the City Event of Moscow, where, however, will be absent many of the greats, then there is going to be the stop for the World Championships in Schladming.
