The ski season restarts at the end of the Christmas holidays with the Austrian ladies giant slalom in Semmering.
The two run, one drawn by Costazza, the Italian coach, and Petrini, the coach of the Swiss, are very similar and regular.
Imposes her self in both runs the home athlete Anna Fenninger, very clean, soft, smooth and always in time.
Second, for a second and ten hundreds, a great Tina Maze, once again on the podium in giant slalom. Her lead in the overall World Cup standings , especially now that Lindsey Vonn is in the United States to regain the energies, is progressively increasing and the chance to win is more and more concrete.
The France Tessa Worley, with aggression and determination, earns the third step of the podium with a second and eighteen hundreds.
Excellent performance by Mikaela Shiffrin, who in the Åre slalom had earned her first victory in the World Cup at the age of seventeen. This very young American, eighth in this giant, starting with the bib twenty-seven, also shows, in this specialty, excellent solidity, a safe skiing and a central position, always on the ski.
Best of Italians is Nadia Fanchini, twelfth, that shows us a great second run with where she recovers thirteen places. Not at her level instead Irene Curtoni, less fluid than usual, that arrives sixteenth. Nineteenth is Denise Karbon, while twenty-ninth and thirtieth are classified Manuela Moelgg and Lisa Agerer.
The emotions will continue tomorrow with the post about the men downhill in Bormio and the ladies slalom in Semmering.
I apologize for the lack of pictures, but the connection in the place where I am is really bad. I’m going to add them once I go back home.
